Ten Folk Songs, Simply Arranged For Voice And Piano, For Solo or Unison Singing

Ready To Sing... Folk Songs is a collection of 10 folk songs arranged for voice and piano in a simple style appropriate for beginning and young soloists, unison classroom singing, and elementary choral groups. Included are reproducible melody-line song sheets for each song which can be distributed to your singers. Soloists could also use these reproducible sheets when learning or performing the songs.

Easy piano accompaniments strongly support the melody throughout each song. Vocal ranges are moderate, most have an octave range and none exceed an octave and a second. The wide variety of songs includes three with optional non-English texts, but English may be sung throughout. Songs include:

  • Li'l Liza Jane (United States)
  • Siyahamba (South Africa, with optional Zulu text)
  • Scarborough Fair (Great Britain)
  • De Colores (Mexico, with optional Spanish text)
  • All Through The Night (Wales)
  • Skye Boat Song (Scotland)
  • The Water Is Wide (United States/Great Britain)
  • Ma Bella Bimba (Italy, with optional Italian text);
  • Oh, Susanna (United States)
  • Poor Wayfaring Stranger (United States)

An accompaniment CD is also included.
